The Territory
Dating back to prehistoric times, the town of Cupra Marittima developed during the Piceni and Roman civilizations (Cupra Goddess’s Temple). Nowadays, Cupra Marittima is well-known for a permanent exhibition of malacology (shells and molluscs from all over the world), the ruins of St. Andrew’s ancient castle (13th century), the collegiate church and the local archaeological museum
In Cupra Marittima visitors will enjoy fine sandy beaches, a clear and calm sea (the town has been awarded with the European Blue Flag for unpolluted waters since 1997), and the lively, friendly atmosphere of a place equipped with services which make it particularly suitable for families.
Cupra Marittima is located within an area rich in art as well as fortress towns, in traditions, natural reserves, genuine food and quality wines.
